MUSIC & ART: Folk on the Dock at the Royal Albert Dock and Tate Liverpool

There’s loads going on this Bank Holiday weekend down at the docks with Folk on the Dock creating a real buzz. The international folk, acoustic and roots music festival is back for its third year, hosting over 200 artists across 10 different stages not forgetting the contemporary floating Dock Stage. With so much going on, try and pop along to see the bands performing at the famous Tate Liverpool and don’t forget to check out some of the art exhibitions while you’re there. If you fancy taking a trip to the otherside of the Mersey this weekend or already live over that side, there’s a fun festival taking place. It promises to bring the World to your doorstep by offering flavours of dance, culture, and food from around the globe. Even better – it’s free, and there are loads of workshops and activities to get involved with, and performances to keep you entertained.

Another classic comedy is returning to one of the best theatres in the city for what’s predicted to be another sellout. Even if you’ve seen Bouncers before, John Godber has revamped production and it’ll be exciting to see the new cast adding their own spin on the scouse ‘Doorman’ humour. We can’t believe it’s 11 years since Sefton Park started to accommodate the weekend festival and showcase some of the city’s best independent food and drink companies.
