‘Film Stars Don’t Die in Liverpool’ at the Liverpool Philharmonic
Price: FREE for LJMU student plus guest
Date: Mon 19th February 2018
The cinema date is a classic, and whilst there are many picture houses in the city, there are none quite like the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Watching films here is a unique experience and a different take on a normal date…. oh and in case you missed it, for LJMU students and a plus one it’s FREE. You’re a lucky lot. On just after Valentine’s weekend is the 2017 film, ‘Film Star’s Don’t Die in Liverpool’. The film is based on the romantic memoir of young actor Peter Turner’s fling with eccentric big-time Hollywood actress Gloria Grahame, and with a lot of the filming having taken place on the streets of Liverpool, it feels like a little love letter to our darling city. [NB. Tickets for this event have now sold out – you can add your name to the waiting list or come along to our City Social].
